Welcome back!
September is traditionally the unveiling of fall programs and events – a welcome back from the relaxed schedule of summer. However, this year has been like none other. We have been forced to take a break (for months!) from activities and events at Hope and in other aspects of our lives. Many of us long to be together with our family and friends but we understand the importance of protecting the health of one another. As we learn more about COVID and how to manage life during this ongoing pandemic, we know that connection must remain a priority!
In the church office, we have been so very proud of our church community – making phone calls to one another, baking cookies, delivering packages, crafting special cards, sewing masks, becoming tech savvy so you can watch worship service, sharing technical and musical skills to allow for online worship – the love and compassion you have shown for one another over the past several months has been heartwarming.
We have also been amazed that during this lockdown, folks have still managed to donate supplies for the Canadian Lutheran World Relief We Care Kits, items for the food bank and blankets for Made by Momma, Women In Need Society and Canadian Lutheran World Relief (not even a pandemic can slow our stitchers down!)
We are thankful for God’s love and care during these strange times and we pray that God will give us continued strength and guidance as we plan for our safe return to worship and activities at Hope Lutheran Church.
Please follow our newsletter and website closely – we hope to introduce more events and activities over time, but we will follow Alberta Health regulations closely and may cancel/ modify plans as needed.
