Holden Evening Prayer is a simple Lutheran vespers service that follows traditional form while using contemporary and inclusive language. It was written in 1985-86 by Marty Haugen during a musical residency at Holden Village.

Holden Evening Prayer’s cultural significance extends beyond its theological context. It has become a symbol of unity and harmony, transcending cultural and denominational boundaries to unite individuals in shared spiritual experiences and reflections.

Holden Evening Prayer will be the 6:30pm service offerered as part of The Gathering Table on the following evenings:
