The feast of Epiphany is celebrated on January 6 by Christians throughout the world. Older than Christmas, the church has marked this day as the first manifestation (or "epiphany") of God's entry into the world in Christ. At least three epiphany stories from scripture are commemorated on this day: the Visit of the Magi (or Three Kings, Matthew 2:1-12), Jesus' Baptism in the Jordan (all four gospels), and the Miracle of Water into Wine at Cana (John 2:1-12). All these are, in their way, first public appearances of Jesus where is acknowledged by the everyone.
