It feels like a family to me.
I was baptized, confirmed, and married at Hope Lutheran, and have been an active member of the church for pretty much my whole life. I love being a member of the Hope community because it feels like a family to me. We’re not such a big church that you can get lost in the crowd, but not so small that it feels tired and stuffy. I’ve always felt like I’ve had about fifty different sets of parents and grandparents from growing up in the church. My young son is now also part of our faith community, and I love that he too feels very much at home with his church family.

You made us feel so welcome
We love being members and worshipping at Hope Lutheran. All of you made us feel so welcome when we were searching for a new church. You were so friendly and warm, on our first visit, we instantly felt we were at home. I love listening to all of you singing in service. The musicality of the members here is such a great gift. Pastor Kristian's messages are a blessing for our family. We love the messages of grace and the love of Jesus that we hear. The purposeful emphasis of this congregation to include everyone in communion and everyday church life is a living part of our congregation. You have all become our church family and we thank you for that.

Spirited musical worship
I've been a member of Hope Lutheran since returning to Calgary in 1988 after living abroad for 12 years. Marie & I were very much enthused to be active members of a congregation that was clearly vibrant, welcoming, did a great job of proclaiming the gospel message, had a wonderful choir and engaged in such spirited musical worship. Over the years since then we continue to appreciate these qualities at Hope and we have been active in a variety of ministries. We have seen wonderful change & development of new ministries, changes of pastoral leadership that have always brought new talents & perspectives, and here we are today with great committed leadership and a continuing vibrant community of faith. Of course there is always more to be done, but the leadership is willing to entertain new ideas & change which we find enervating. We thank God that Hope is a strong congregation with a message & a mission and we look forward to new ways of serving.
